  • Story of King Bali

According to Hindu mythology, it is said that there was a king named BALI, to test him Lord Vishnu incarnated in the earth in the avatar of Vamana. When Vishnu came to the entrance of Bali and asked for alms. Bhagwan Visnu asked to give three steps of land so Bali was agreed. Bhagwan measured the earth and the sky in his own two legs, then for the third step, Bali put his head under the feet of God.

Bhagwan Vishnu was very happy with Bali and asked him for any wishes. Bali asked god to stay on earth with them. God accepted the proposal and left his place of residence that is Bekunth and started living on earth. Goddess’s mother LUXMI got worried due to god moving in the earth and started thinking about how to call God back to Bekunth.

Goddess Laxmi also took the form of a beggar went in front of Bali’s palace and asked for alms from king Bali. Bali told mother Laxmi that now he has nothing left, so now he cannot give them anything. Then mother Laxmi showed her true form to Bali and said to Bali that you have adherent to the world and I have come to take them back. Goddess Laxmi tied the thread to Bali and in return asked Lord Vishnu to return to her.
